About

Hi.. I'm Angel. True story. That's my name. Nope, I'm not a stripper. Mostly I'm a pretty happy person with a mouth like a sailor, especially when driving. I probably have a slight short-man's complex at only 5' 2 3/4" but I like to think good things come in small packages.. like kittens.. or poison.

I live in Seattle, which is awesome for the music and theater scenes, food/wine/outdoors, where jeans and a t-shirt can pass for casual or formal attire pretty much anywhere and if you order something from Amazon, it gets here like the next day. It's cold and rainy most of the time, sunny and beautiful a few weeks days hours minutes at a time.. but that's our curse. When it's sunny here, you understand why they call it The Emerald City. It's gorgeous and green and smells good and the only time strangers smile at each other.* It's still pretty when it rains, but some of us just wish it didn't rain 10 months out of the year. TEN, people. Last year our seasons blended into winter and August. I'm not kidding. The ark jokes get old quickly. That's all I'm saying.

I turned 40 in November of 2011. Nope, I don't look it and yes, I feel lucky but mostly I feel like I'm constantly trying to grow up or walk that line between maturity and youthfulness. 40 is weird. That's so far all I've determined.

I'm single, most often. Not intentionally or anything. I date and will probably talk about it here because this blog is about me and my life adventures and foibles.. and there a lot of foibles in dating and just because I'm me. And because I'm single, I have a cat. It's a rule. I don't make them, people. I just follow them. Her name is Emma. I only have one. Not 42. There are no plans to be the Crazy Cat Lady, but I'll let you know if that changes.

I stage manage and produce fringe theater locally. I'm part of a large Burning Man camp called Hippocampus, aka the Hippos. I found and met my biological mother almost two years ago and since then have met one of my two half brothers and still have two half sisters to meet. I have a ‛regular’ brother (not adopted like me) and sister-in-law who own Wave Hounds Surf Shop in Seattle. You should go there and buy things and learn how to surf. I won't be there. I'm afraid of water I can't see thru. What? I know.. I don't get it either. But you can tell me all about it. And you can usually find me in a theater, on the dance floor wearing faux fur costumes with my friends or in a park working as a small human looker-outer.

Anything else you may (or may not) want to know - little tidbits or other oddities - are listed below and deserve a 2012 update, but I still have to catch up on the last quarter of 2011. Til then, read these, email or tweet me if you like (only nice things please.. I have no qualms about deleting crazy stalker-types or negative comments.). Most likely, I'll hit you back.. and not in the Britney sort of way. I mean, unless you like that sort of thing.

2006: 50 Things

* The exception being when it snows here. There's something magic about a city covered in a couple of inches of snow that makes a complete stranger say hello and smile when you're walking to places you didn't walk to before because you were too lazy your car is buried in your driveway. But don't ask us to drive in it. We don't know how to do that. We think we do.. and then we end up in a ditch because we forgot we didn't know how to stop in inclement conditions. Oops.
